Did you see this? It's the obituary for Manuel Reyes, 82; Conviction in Sleepy Lagoon murder case later overturned. His children didn't know about this historical episode in their father's life until the invasion of privacy court case was brought up against playwright Luis Valdez by the living members of the Sleepy Lagoon trial. I assume they didn't want Zoot Suit to be made but were able to get 1% of the play and films earnings. It trips me out since I'm in the midst of producing a script for a play that takes place in a historical period...but not based on actual events. Hey, no one said anything about being on the same plane as Zoot Suit, I'm just trying to connect to a world beyond me. Anyway, read on and trip yourself out.
